Under the supervision of the Coummunications and Public Relations Office Head and Administrator, the CPR Publicist and Web Editor serves as the primary staff member responsible for writing, editing, and publishing news and other announcements that establish and maintain the school’s image and public presence on the web, in newsletters, and in social media.
Typical responsibilities of the job include:
1,Selecting articles for issues ,rewriting editing and proofreading publication contents, generating ideas for articles and features, publishing new content, photos, and videos via school official website(English Version) and consistently updating the website.
2,Under minimal supervision, schedules and conducts interviews, and researches supplemental sources like theses and abstracts, to write and edit new content. Publishes approximately one new article each week.
3,Creates and distributes the school Wechat Official Account, managing content and the increasing followers as well as analyzing traffic (opens, clicks, unsubscribes, etc.).
4,Building a student journalist team, organising meetings with writers and student journalists to discuss and plan the all the sections of the school official website(English Version).
5,Supervising student journalists and freelance writers, and setting deadlines
6,Reading, writing and researching features and articles from the top world-class university website and builidng a University Stylebook
7,Attending relevant events, fairs and conferences
8,Ensuring that all feature articles comply with ethical codes of practice and legal guidelines.
Qualifications and Education Required：
1,Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, liberal arts, journalism, communications, or a related field.
2,Experience writing about technology or science topics and publishing content online and/or in newsletters, and generating awareness of content through social media channels (experience can be earned while a student).
1,Professional experience proofreading and editing documents for grammatical and content accuracy in compliance with Associated Press (AP) guidelines and the university’s style manual.
2,Proven knowledge of web and social media publication process.
3,Must possess strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, discretion, and critical judgment to operate with independence and confidence while interfacing with everyone in the department to complete writing projects in a timely fashion.
4,Ability to maintain composure and concentration in order to complete multiple concurrent work assignments, set priorities and problem solve while encountering interruptions in a fast-paced and frequently noisy environment.
