Why intern for us?
Suitable interns who have satisfied our requirements and have successfully demonstrated excellent translation and team player skills as well as a passion for their job, may be hired to stay on as part time or full time in-house translators/editors (working hours negotiable).
An internship at eChinacities can also help students and new graduates bridge the gap between school and the working world. During the programme, interns will gain practical experience in translating from Chinese to English (interns will translate a wide range of writing styles, from current affairs articles to private blogs, and events info to practical city guide articles). The programme will also equip interns with excellent research skills using primarily Chinese sources and provides an excellent window for gaining a better understanding of China’s online media world and web community.
In addition to providing valuable work experience as translators, this internship will also allow interns to gain experience in editing and writing. Interns are encouraged to explore their local environment, stay up to date on topical issues in Chinese media and by extension offering a window to gaining insight into Chinese culture, news, events and trends.
