An international school located in Wuxi, Jiangsu province is looking for primary IB PYP Coordinator. Start time: September 2025

Responsible to: Head of Primary
Responsibilities:
As IB PYP Coordinator :
Provide pedagogical leadership within the school
Oversee collaborative curriculum planning both horizontally and vertically throughout the Early year and Elementary school
Oversee and organize in-school and out-of-school professional development
Ensure that the International Baccalaureate (IB) publications remain current and disseminated to all staff
Maintain files of completed Unit of Inquiry planners
Publish the school's Programme of Inquiry
Lead and develop curriculum in the school's scope and sequence document
Ensure assessment agreements, teaching and language learning are documented
Take responsibility for collating school's IBPYP action and development plan in consultation with the Principal and senior staff
Ensure that parents are well informed regarding the general characteristics of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and how it is implemented by the school
Maintain a log of staff workshop attendance and school visits and monitor this to maintain quality and strategic future planning
Ensure all teaching staff has access to the Online Curriculum Centre (OCC) and are versed in usage
Provide support for staff and students presenting the PYP Exhibition in its final year of the programme
Recommend suitable resource purchases to support the programme's implementation
Maintain a resource inventory
Conduct parent information sessions in collaboration with the Principal and School Executive Team
Collate and publish articles pertaining to the programme in the weekly newsletter
Circulate all relevant information received from the IB
Prepare and submit authorization and evaluation documentation
Liaise between the school and the IB
Attend local/regional PYP Coordinators' network meetings
Select and order core curriculum documents and materials
Assist Public Relations where necessary; conduct school tours when required, attend open days and interview parents in order to increase student enrolment
Work with the School Executive Team and the Principal in enhancing and maintaining staff relations
As Assessment Coordinator;
develop systems to facilitate formative and summative assessments of Student's progress
support teachers in implementing assessment and record keeping procedures
oversee mid-year and end of semester reporting procedures
ensure that qualitative information is relayed to parents


·Lead and develop curriculum in the school's scope and sequence document
·Ensure EAL curriculum feeds into the academic achievement of mainstream classes
·Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation; demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom
·Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies
·Alignment of Singapore math curriculum within the Units of Inquiry
·Ensure continuity of the programme through mapping of the transdisciplinary program of inquiry and the ongoing assessment and improvement of the continuum initiatives
·Ensuring that the intended, taught and learned curriculum are aligned, created collaboratively, and are informing instructional practices
·Provide opportunities for teachers to observe one another in practice. And support them through regular classroom visits.
·Serve as the curricular, instructional, and professional learning leader of the Elementary school
·Facilitate weekly grade level and specialist PLCs, along with Bi-weekly upper/lower primary PLCs with specialists
Provide administrative guidance and assistance to the Phonics, ELL and Mandarin Coordinator oMeet on a regular basis to ensure consistency and transitioning into the Elementary.
